Join Us to Build the Next Generation of Structural Biology AI

Immuto Scientific is on a mission to transform drug discovery by unlocking the hidden structural biology of human disease. We are developing a proprietary AI platform to predict protein structures directly from patient samples and tumor models—leveraging data no one else has. Our platform is designed to go beyond existing models by integrating proprietary mass spectrometry data that reveals in vivo protein conformations in complex biological systems, including tumors.

This is a rare opportunity to lead the development of a truly novel protein folding model—one that incorporates biological constraints from real human samples and could revolutionize how the industry identifies druggable targets. As the founding machine learning scientist, you will not only shape our technical roadmap, but help pioneer a new frontier in cancer biology, precision medicine, and therapeutic discovery.

Job Overview:

We’re looking for a Founding Machine‑Learning Scientist – Protein Folding & Structural Biology to build our AI capability from a blank slate. You will own everything—from adapting and expanding upon open-source models to incorporate data constraints through cloud deployment—and ultimately, implementing an MVP that outperforms current gold standard models on a real disease target. Success means accelerating our antibody‑drug‑conjugate pipeline and defining the blueprint for an AI‑first drug‑discovery group.

What You’ll Do

  • Implement and expand a next-gen protein folding model (e.g., AlphaFold derivatives such as Chai 1, Boltz 1, ESMFold, etc.) that integrates real-world structural constraints derived from our proprietary data on biologically relevant systems
  • Integrate proprietary mass spectrometry data as structural restraints into model training and inference pipelines
  • Lead efforts to implement scalable training / inference pipelines in AWS; define Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) processes (CI/CD, GitHub Actions, SageMaker, EKS, etc.)
  • Work closely with experimental scientists to develop workflows that turn raw datasets into ML‑ready formats; design experiments to validate predictions; and build lab-in-the-loop feedback systems to refine model performance iteratively
  • Present your work at conferences and lead publications to build Immuto’s technical and scientific leadership
  • Set technical standards, influence product strategy, and mentor subsequent hires as we build the team around you

Who You Are

  • MS degree with 5+ years of industry experience or PhD (preferred) in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, Biochemistry, Computer Science, AI/ML, or related discipline (or equivalent industry track record)
  • Demonstrated expertise with protein‑structure prediction (AlphaFold, Rosetta, ESM‑Fold, etc.) and deep‑learning frameworks (PyTorch, JAX)
  • Demonstrated success training and deploying large‑scale deep‑learning models on GPU/TPU clusters, with proficiency in major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, or comparable GPU clouds) and infrastructure‑as‑code tooling (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi, CDK).
  • Ability to thrive with minimal guidance, make architectural decisions, and communicate clearly across scientific and executive audiences
  • Documented success in independently conceiving, developing, and delivering complex machine‑learning projects—from initial concept and prototype through large‑scale training, cloud deployment, and performance validation.

Why Immuto

  • A true data advantage: Our proprietary in vivo datasets enable models that others can’t build.
  • Platform for impact: Your work will drive novel target discovery and first-in-class therapeutics in cancer and beyond
  • Founding team opportunity: Help build our AI team and platform from the ground up, with resources and backing to move fast.
  • Mission-driven culture: We are scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs united by a bold goal—to save lives by rethinking what’s possible in drug discovery.

We’re looking for people who want to change the world—who question the status quo and thrive on solving the toughest scientific problems. For the builders who are never done building, and the learners who are never done learning. For the relentlessly curious, the deeply driven, and the ones who see impossible as a challenge worth pursuing. At Immuto, you won’t just be joining a company—you’ll be pioneering a new era in biology and medicine. Head on.

Be a pioneer in the next era of structural biology and targeted therapeutics. Join us.
